The Aku Uka of Wukari, Manu Ishaku Adda Ali (Matakhiswen) is a highly respected leader not only in Taraba State but across the entire country. As the Chairman of the Traditional Council of Chiefs in Taraba State, he has earned a reputation for wisdom, integrity, and visionary leadership.
Manu Ishaku Adda Ali is the 25th Aku Uka of the Kwararafa Kingdom, following his selection by the four kingmakers and confirmation by the Kunvyi after consulting the oracles of the Jukunland. His emergence as the 25th Aku Uka followed the transition of the 24th Aku Uka, His Majesty, Dr. Shekarau Angyu Masa-Ibi, Kuvyo II, CON on 8th October, 2021.
The Aku Uka is the son of the 23rd Aku Uka, Adda Ali Agbumanu V (1975-1976); he is from the Bama Ruling House. Born on 24th March, 1946, he holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Forestry from the premier Federal College of Forestry, Jos, Plateau State, obtained in 1986.
He joined the civil service in 1965 and retired in the year 2000 as Chief Forest Superintendent, after 35 years of meritorious service. After retirement from the civil service, the new Aku Uka engaged in community, religious, and social activities, as well as special duty as a member of the task force on Forest Management in the State.
He has a special interest in listening to news (both local and international), humanitarian service, and environmental development. Until his appointment, he was chairman of Abiu Bauka, Jalingo Branch, and that of the Kwararafa Ethnic Nationalities residing in Taraba State.
With a deep understanding of the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the region, the Aku Uka has been instrumental in promoting unity, peace, and development among the diverse ethnic groups in Taraba State. His leadership has been marked by a commitment to justice, fairness, and the well-being of his people.
As a respected elder statesman, the Aku Uka has played a key role in resolving conflicts and disputes, and has been a vocal advocate for the rights and interests of the people of Taraba State. His wisdom, guidance, and counsel are sought by leaders and citizens alike, and he has become a symbol of hope and inspiration for many.
The Aku Uka’s leadership extends beyond the borders of Taraba State, and he is widely recognized as a champion of traditional values and cultural heritage. His contributions to the development of the region and the country as a whole have been significant, and his legacy will be remembered for generations to come.
