Tensions Rise at National Assembly as DSS Takes Control Amid Impeachment Speculations Against Senate President Akpabio

The precinct of the National Assembly resembles a warzone this morning, with operatives from the Department of State Security (DSS) taking charge following rumors of a potential impeachment move against Senate President Goodswill Akpabio.

Reports suggest that discontented Northern Senators, reportedly dissatisfied with President Bola Tinubu, are reviving previous efforts to oust Akpabio from his position.

Globally, legislative bodies typically employ dedicated internal security personnel to maintain order and safety within their premises. Additional security agencies are also present to protect lives and property in case of any threats that could disrupt legislative proceedings.

This morning, OrderPaper observed DSS personnel in dark suits and sunglasses stationed at all entrances, from the main gate to the second gate, indicating heightened security measures in response to the unfolding situation.
