Kogi State Former Deputy Governor, Elder Simon Achuba has condoled with the leadership of Kogi State Government led by Governor Yahaya Bello and the families of those who lost their lives in the Fatal tanker explosion that claimed many lives at Felele in Lokoja today.
The former Deputy who described the incident as sad and unfortunate urged those who lost their loved ones in the explosion not to be weigh down with the pains of the incident but be strong in prayers for God the true healer to heal their wounds.
Expressing worry over the incident, the former Deputy Governor called on the Federal Government to intervene by constructing either a by-pass or flyover at the area known for several of such occurrences.
The former Deputy Governor said such project, when undertaken by the Federal Government, would save the lives and properties of the people.
He urged the state government to take the state of internal roads in lokoja metropolis and the state in general seriously to avoid continous loss of lives and properties
While waiting for the construction of the bypass or flyover, the former Deputy Governor further advised that members of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other relevant agencies be deployed to the entrance and exit of Lokoja metropolis for the purposes of ensuring maximum speed within Lokoja and it’s environs in order to limit the rate of such ugly incident.
