The Minister of Steel Development, Shuaibu Audu, has refuted allegations of terminating the jobs of two of his staff for supporting Muritala Ajaka, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate in the recently concluded Kogi State governorship election.
Contrary to earlier reports, the minister denied the dismissal of aides in connection with the Kogi gubernatorial election, challenging the said aides to provide any appointment or employment letters for public scrutiny.
Audu disclosed that he is yet to make any official appointment and that the claims of sacking Danjuma Agaba, a special assistant, and Prince Suleiman, the photographer—both reportedly owed five months’ salary—are false information.
He urges the public to disregard the report, terming it misleading, and emphasizes that he has yet to make any official appointments for his legislative aides.
Appointed in August by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Audu served as the Director General (DG) of the All Progressives Congress campaign council in the recent Kogi gubernatorial election. Earlier this month, he faced criticism for expressing his intention on a WhatsApp group to recommend individuals who delivered their polling units for the APC during the election for employment and appointments.
