South-South APC leaders, Oshiomhole meet Wike after ex-gov’s ministerial appointment

Former Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State received some August visitors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday, August 17.

Wike was paid a courtesy visit by APC leaders of South-South extraction who came to congratulate him on his appointment as Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister.

Senator Adams Oshiomhole, a former Edo state governor, led the APC leaders.

Others on the entourage are Dan Orbih, a Peoples Democratic Party chieftain and a former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chubudom Nwuche, among others.

Wike’s designation as the FCT minister was made public on Wednesday, August 16, alongside the portfolios of other ministers.

Wike had admitted that he worked for President Bola Tinubu’s victory during the last presidential election.

This has led a lot of Nigerians to believe that Tinubu rewarded him with a ministerial appointment as a payback for his support.
