Yusuf articulated, “The unusual quietness from the South-Easterners is troubling. Tinubu’s economic policies have exacerbated the situation, leaving many in dire straits and signaling imminent trouble.”
Accusing Tinubu of jeopardizing the stability of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Yusuf highlighted Tinubu’s decision to unilaterally cut off electricity to the Republic of Niger following a recent coup in the country as a deliberate attempt to undermine the regional body.
He criticized Tinubu’s mishandling of negotiations with Niger Republic post-coup, particularly citing Tinubu’s imposition of sanctions and aggressive military actions as counterproductive measures.
