Six persons lost their lives in Nasarawa State on Saturday, as the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso, visited the state to commission the party’s secretariat in Lafia.
The incident occurred when a bus conveying supporters in the presidential candidate’s convoy lost control.
Four of the victims died on the spot, while those that sustained injuries were rushed to hospital where two others died.
OBSERVERSTIMES recall that The presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, pledged commitment to address the security problems bedeviling the country if elected president of Nigeria come 2023.
The former Kano State governor made the statement when he paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Keffi, Dr Shehu Chindo Yamusa III at his palace in Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
He said the visit to the emir became necessary because of his respect for the emirate and the entire people of Keffi.
Appreciating Kwankwaso for the visit, Emir Yamusa III wished him good luck and Allah’s blessings.
