Senator Isah Jibrin Calls for Urgent Action Following Attack on Agojeju-odo Community

 

In response to the heinous attack on the Agojeju-odo community in the Omala Local Government Area of Kogi State, Senator Isah Jibrin (Echocho) representing Kogi East Senatorial District in the National Assembly has issued a fierce condemnation, vowing to spare no effort in restoring peace and bringing the perpetrators to justice.

The attack, allegedly carried out by over 150 suspected Fulani herdsmen, resulted in the tragic loss of lives, including that of a sick woman undergoing treatment at a local clinic and two men brutally murdered in broad daylight. Senator Jibrin expressed deep sorrow over the senseless violence inflicted upon the peaceful residents of Agojeju-odo.

Describing the incident as “needless and cowardly,” Senator Jibrin highlighted the ongoing security challenges faced by communities in Omala LGA, emphasizing the need for immediate action to prevent further bloodshed. He called upon the state government to deploy necessary security measures to the affected area, reassuring residents that their safety is a top priority.

Furthermore, Senator Jibrin urged the Federal Government to address the deteriorating security situation in Kogi State with utmost urgency, emphasizing the need for comprehensive measures to safeguard the lives and property of all citizens.

“I will not rest until justice is served, and peace is restored to Agojeju-odo and the entire Omala LGA,” declared Senator Jibrin, promising to work tirelessly alongside relevant authorities to ensure lasting solutions are implemented.
