by

The enigmatic Senator representing Kogi Ewst Senatorial District, Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho , who is extremely passionate about education, has taken another bold step, this time, towards the renovation of  the Government Secondary School Dekina (GSS Dekina) and Our Lady of School Anyigba schools, both of which had suffered from years of neglect and abandonment. These institutions hold significant historical importance in Igala land, having produced numerous influential figures, including former governors, and countless graduates who have shaped the socio-political landscape of Kogi State and the northern central zone.

Stakeholders have hailed the senator’s foresight, saying that the projects have gone a very long way in transforming the educational standard of Kogi East Senatorial District as well as impacting greatly on school children.

The facelift of GSS Dekina and OLS Anyigba is not merely a physical renovation; it represents a restoration of pride and opportunity for the youth of our region. For too long, these schools have been overshadowed by neglect, yet Echocho’s intervention signals a renewed focus on education, which is crucial for the future of our communities. As we celebrate these developments, it is imperative that we urge the senator to see these projects through to completion. This is not just about infrastructure; it is about legacy—ensuring that future generations have access to quality education in environments that inspire learning and growth.

Senator Echocho’s achievements are commendable, especially considering the political challenges he faces in a landscape that demands immense attention and resources. Representing nine local governments, the expectations placed on him are high, particularly as Kogi East is a region that arguably deserves more than its fair share of representation in the Senate. Despite these challenges, Echocho has managed to make a tangible impact, demonstrating resilience and dedication to his constituents.

His efforts to revitalize these schools are a testament to his vision for a better Kogi State. They reflect a broader commitment to education, which is the bedrock of societal progress. As we acknowledge his accomplishments, we must also recognize the importance of continued support and advocacy for the completion of these projects. The future of our youth hinges on the quality of education they receive, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure that these institutions are not only restored but thrive in the years to come.

Senator Echocho’s work in revitalizing GSS Dekina and OLS Anyigba serves as a reminder that, despite the political landscape’s complexities, positive change is possible when leaders prioritize the needs of their constituents.
