Senator Echocho Champions Women’s Empowerment in Agriculture

 

On Thursday, November 7, 2024, Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho, representing Kogi East senatorial district, took a significant step towards enhancing agricultural productivity and empowering women by launching an empowerment program in Ajiyolo, Dekina Local Government Area.

The initiative, which aims to include women in agricultural development, underscores the senator’s commitment to fostering food security and diversifying Nigeria’s economy.

The event was coordinated by Honorable Ibrahim Ahmadu (Ibro Akiti), the legislative aide to Senator Echocho, and attended by key community stakeholders. Recognizing the vital role women play in the agricultural sector, Senator Echocho emphasized the importance of their involvement in crop cultivation to accelerate growth and ensure all hands are on deck in this critical industry.
