Senator Barau Urges Nigerians To Cooperate With Tinubu Administration

The Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, has urged Nigerians to rally around President Bola Tinubu in his efforts to address the nation’s socio-economic challenges.

Senator Barau made the call while launching the distribution of palliatives to people in the Northwest, in Kano, on Sunday.

According to him, the current hardships being experienced in the country are a global problem and therefore, not peculiar to Nigeria.

He said usually, if a country anywhere in the world is going through difficult times, the citizens rally around their leaders to enable them to address them.

This, the lawmaker said, explained why Nigerians should support and cooperate with their President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to enable him to navigate the nation out of its current challenges.

He said part of the efforts of the Tinubu administration to address the problems, is the distribution of palliatives to the less privileged made up of assorted grains including rice.

He said because of the irregularities observed in the distribution of the presidential palliatives around the country in the past, the Federal Government decided to re-strategise by constituting committees to undertake the exercise to ensure equitable distribution of the foodstuff.

Barau said as the Chairman of the Palliatives Distribution Committee for the sub-region, he would ensure equitable sharing of the commodities.

He later launched the exercise with the distribution of 25kg of rice to beneficiaries drawn from local government areas in Kano State.
