The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, Aminu Tambuwal has said the Forum will render every assistance to the sacked Imo State governor, Emeka Ihedioha to reclaim his mandate at the Supreme Court.
Ihedioha has already filed an appeal before the Supreme Court for the review of the apex court’s judgement of January 14 that nullified his election.
Tambuwal, who spoke to journalists in Abuja, said the PDP Governors’ Forum is in support of his move to seek the reversal of the judgement.
“I can confirm to you that Rt. Hon Emeka Ihedioha is re-approaching the Supreme Court for a review of the last judgement on Imo election and we are all ready to support him and back him as a party and as a Forum.
“We are very sure that by the time the Supreme Court really takes a second look at the matter, there may be some change in its position.
“So we are praying hard, we are working hard to get what has not been properly delivered in terms of justice in that matter and that it is addressed,” he said.
Tambuwal, who is also the governor of Sokoto State, promised to foster peace among PDP governors, the National Working Committee (NWC) and other organs of the PDP.
He assured that PDP would continue to build the nation’s democratic culture, the rule of law and constitutionalism in the country.
