SARS Allegedly Kill Man In Benue Over N50 Bribe Dump His Dead Body

The police department of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) have allegedly killed Mr. Tersoo at the Adikpo area of Benue state over N50 bribe.
Tersoo before his death was a peasant farmer, father of four children and a pregnant wife.
Tersoo was alleged to have been killed by the operatives of Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) on Friday while coming back from his in-law house.
Tersoo had gone to inform his in-laws about the demise of his mother, whose burial was to hold on 29th day of September.
He was together with an Okadaman that took him to the place when the incident happened.
According to the okadaman who witnessed the incident, SARS operatives demanded for N50 from them, while they could not give because they had nothing.
When they could not give the demanded money, SARS detained  Tersoo with the motorcycle and asked the okadaman to go and get money to retrieve his motorcycle.
Tersoo’s initial crime is that he intervened when SARS engaged the motorcycle owner. The motorcycle is still with the Police in Adikpo.
SARS operatives arrested and took Tersoo away in a Hilux Van while his dead body was found at the Kwande General Hospital Adikpo the following day.
The explanation from the Divisional Police Officer  (DPO) was that he was carrying bullets and tobacco in his wallet.
This is even as the revelation came after the deceased kinsmen refused the sum of N200,000 from the police to take care of the burial and die the matte.
Until his dead body was discovered at the morgue, the police never agreed he was in their custody.
When WAR sought the explanation of  Mr DK Orzende, who is the deceased uncle, he said SARS officials mounted a road block six kilometres to Adikpo town where they arrested the deceased, killed him over night and dumped his dead body at the Adikpo General Hospital.
He, however, added that the DPO could not provide an explanation over the death of the deceased while the General Hospital staff told them the deceased was brought to the hospital dead.
Orzende disclosed that they have reported the case to their traditional ruler while they have taken up the case.
