Justice Ayo Salami-led Presidential investigative panel has recommended removal and prosecution of the suspended acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu.
It could be recalled that the Presidential Investigative Committee is probing the activities of EFCC under the stewardship of suspended Acting Chairman of the agency Ibrahim Magu between 2015 and 2020.
According to a report by TheCable, the recommendation is contained in the panel’s interim report submitted to President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, after allegedly finding Mr Magu culpable of corruption and abuse of office.
The newspaper quoted the panel to have also recommended the appointment of a new chairman for the anti-graft agency “without further delay”.
