A portion of the Eleme Local Government Area secretariat in Rivers State has been engulfed in flames.
Channels Television reports that newly elected chairman Brain Gokpa arrived at the LG secretariat with his councillors and supporters, only to find that several buildings within the complex had been set on fire. The report includes insights from former Ambassador Oji Ngofa, a resident of Eleme.
Concerns are rising over the possibility of violence erupting in certain local government areas of the state.
