Okazu Powers, a PDP stakeholder in Rivers State, has stated that Nyesom Wike took on the president when he was governor of Rivers State and nobody is stopping Governor Fubara from taking on Tinubu if he wishes.
Powers made this statement in an interview with AIT while speaking about the political crisis in Rivers State between Fubara and Wike. He said despite the fact that President Tinubu intervened to broker peace, Fubara had not fully adhered to the agreed-upon terms outlined in the peace agreement signed at the Villa. He also urged Fubara to commit to his statement that no price was too big to ensure peace in Rivers State.
In Powers’ words: “Nyesom Wike took on the Grand Commander-in-Chief, Amaechi took on the grand Commander in Chief. It is left for Fubara to take on Tinubu if he so wishes, nobody is stopping him. He is the governor of Rivers State. The issue we have had in Rivers State is not an issue that has to talk about Fubara being governor or not. We have an issue where the governor forgets the tree he was carved from”.
