Real Madrid have agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich defender David Alaba, according to Spanish newspaper Marca. The Austrian international will arrive in Spain in the summer and is wanted due to his versatility across the back line. Real want to bring in the player in part because of the uncertainty over the future over the current first-choice central defender Sergio Ramos.
The injury and the uncertain contract renewal of Ramos adds more importance to the arrival of David Alaba.
Real Madrid have already agreed terms with Alaba and the Austrian will sign for the next four years on a free transfer from Bayern Munich.
It is considered a strategic signing due to the number of defensive solutions that he would give to Real Madrid should Ramos not sign a renewal.
