Ramoni that used to hustle okrika clothes in Berlin, Lagos Island. That is where he got the nickname “Hushpuppi “ after those dockside shoes of same name he used to wear to Lagos Island.
Ramoni that would dress up in second -hand designer clothes outside his mum’s shop on Ogunmefun Street behind Adaranijo Market before she started selling prepared Indomie.
He always had a love for clothes. That was his passion. Just like the average Lagos boy. He loved designer clothes and the good things of life. So, he started doing “yahoo yahoo”. Then he upgraded into “wire wire”.
Few weeks ago , One “Yahoo “ boy that lives on my street in Lekki, Lagos we call “Money Order” called me on WhatsApp. “Elegbon Agba, kilo n shele, how e dey go? Owo stimulus lawa n gba Bayi oo”. I was confused. Stimulus checks for Nigerians in Nigeria?

But, Ramoni “Hushpuppi” Igbalode thrived because we indulged him. Nigerian media outlet praised him. No questions. No deep dig. Nigerian Media continues to fail Nigeria. The most intelligent journalists in Nigeria aspire to work for politicians or people in government. That’s the goal. Get into government house and start talking trash.
