Peter Obi, the former Labour Party presidential candidate, has called on President Bola Tinubu to immediately arrest and prosecute those behind the divisive and genocidal threats against the Igbo people in the South-West.
Obi condemned the incendiary rhetoric, likening it to genocide, and warned that such language threatens national unity and is opposed to the Constitution, which guarantees every Nigerian the right to live and work freely anywhere in the country.
He urged the government and security agencies to act swiftly to protect this fundamental principle and ensure that every Nigerian can live free from fear of discrimination or persecution.
Obi also denied declaring war on Northerners or leading hunger protests, stating that his words were twisted and videos were edited to create false narratives. He emphasized his commitment to a new Nigeria where justice, equity, and caring for citizens will prevail over the greed of a few.
