Pro-Buhari group backs Sen. Abba Ali for appointment as Chief of Staff

The Buhari Campaign Organisation, BCO, has thrown its weight of support behind Senator Abba Ali for nomination and appointment as the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Recall that the immediate past Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, had died last Friday, following Coronavirus complications.

The BCO, in a statement issued on Thursday by its National coordinator, Danladi Pasali, said their support for Mr Ali was borne out of his “sincerity, truthfulness and life experiences”.

The BCO said: “Senator Abba Ali, being an intimate friend and one of the president’s classmates and, in fact, chairman of the President’s forum of classmates, deserves to be appointed into the position. President Buhari is very much aware of his sincerity.”

According to Mr Pasali, Mr Ali’s administrative vastness and political strides are potential qualities that further make him fit for the office.

“One other reason is that Senator Abba Ali is the national patron of the BCO, whose political strides have been in support of President Buhari, since his sojourn into politics,” he said.

Recall Mr Buhari had in 2019 appointed Mr Ali as the Chairman, African Peer Review Mechanism, APRM, of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development, NEPAD.
