The Presidency revealed on Wednesday that President Bola Tinubu is prepared to reshuffle his cabinet. Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, made this announcement during a press conference at the State House in Abuja.
While addressing the media, Onanuga stated that President Tinubu has expressed his intention to rearrange his cabinet, although the exact timing of the reshuffle remains uncertain. He indicated that the reshuffling could potentially occur before October 1st, but emphasized that no specific timeline has been provided by the President.
During the recent Federal Executive Council meeting, Tinubu reportedly encouraged all ministers to actively communicate and promote the achievements of his administration. Onanuga highlighted that some ministers have been hesitant to engage with the media, television, and radio, and Tinubu aims to motivate them to overcome their reservations and effectively communicate the government’s accomplishments.
Onanuga emphasized the importance of ministers sharing the impactful work of their respective ministries with the public, as there is a perception that the government is not adequately showcasing its achievements. He urged ministers to proactively engage with the media and communicate the significant contributions and progress made by their ministries.
“Because the feeling out there is that the government is not doing enough and the government has been doing a lot. And it is up to them to go out there and blow their own trumpet.
“They should go out there and talk about what their ministries have been doing.”
