Kogi State executive council of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has set up a five-member committee to investigate the activities of one of it governorship aspirants, Alhaji Abubarkar Ibrahim Idris. In a communiqué issued after its meeting on Wednesday, the party leaders mandated the committee headed by the Deputy State Chairman, Hon. Sam Ranti Abenemi to probe the Abubakar, son of former Governor Ibrahim Idris, to ascertain if he has ulterior motives to destabilize the party. The committee was given two weeks to submit their report to the party.
The party re-affirmed that the primary election that produced Engr. Musa Wada was free and fair as it was witnessed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and accepted by all the aspirants themselves in their acceptance speech.
