The Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre (Durban ICC) host participants from more than 55 African countries. Discussions will focus on how to increase favourable trade in the region.

Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria, (SMEDAN) also in participation in the 2021 Intra Africa Trade Fair at Durban, to represent and promotes Nigeria interest, SMEDAN, Dikko Umaru Radda PhD led the agency’s delegation to the trade fair.

Organised by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) in collaboration with the African Union (AU) and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat, IATF2021 is being held at Durban International Convention Centre, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, from 15 to 21 November 2021.

The sources disclosed to OBSERVERSTIMES that the IATF2021 attracted over 10,000 attendees from across Africa with US$40 billion of trade and investment deals concluded at the event, the conference offers unrivalled business and commercial networking opportunities and will boost intra-African trade and investment.

President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria while addressing continent’s most influential business luminaries in attendance and other Africa leaders during the opening of the 2nd Intra-African Trade Fair 2021 holding in Durban, South Africa, said his administration has transformed the nation’s economy from being solely dependent on oil revenue to diverse revenue sources in the past years.

He also stressed that the implementation of the free trade zone in Africa would lead to the doubling the continent’s trade in 10 years.

The President emphasised that the Nigerian economy under his administration had witnessed a re-engineering.
