History was made earlier today in Okene during the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP young stakeholders’ meeting when, for the first time in a very long time, party stakeholders from across groups, wards and clans aligned together to chat a way forward for the common good of the party.

The stakeholders’ meeting was well attended by party bigwigs and youths from all groups across Kogi central senatorial district.

The immediate past speaker of Kogi state house of assembly, Rt. Hon. Momoh Jimoh Lawal was on ground to welcome party leaders in Okene. While eulogizing Hon. AK Salihu for his leadership, he also showered encomium on Senator Ahemde Ogembe for his steadfastness and commitment towards keeping the unity of the party in the senatorial district even in his absence.

In his address to party members, Hon. Momoh Jimoh commended the efforts of the entire PDP teeming supporters, women and leaders for standing by the party thus far. He added that, though leaders disagree to agree, it should not in anyway cause a sharp divide and faction amongst party members.

“When there is crises in the party, peddlers of falsehood are happy because that’s the only way they can benefit from the crises. But now that we are United working together to move our party forward, naysayers are disappointed. There should be no room for anyone to cause crises and faction in our party. We are United and stronger together”, Hon. Momoh Jimoh added.

He concluded by praying for the quick release of Okene local government PDP chairman, Hon. Adelabu Musa.
