PDP has assured Nigerians of its commitment to rebuild and bring back the lost glory of the nation through unity, equity, justice, adherence to the rule of law and due process.
The party’s national chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, gave the assurance at the Special Reception organised in his honour by Benue state government in Makurdi, Benue State.
Senator Ayu in a statement from his media office lampooned the APC controlled Federal Government under President Buhari, for its failure to implement mechanism of action toward protecting and saving lives and properties of Nigerians.
According to the statement, “President Buhari’s failure has brought unwarranted division, hardship, agony and mistrust among Nigerians and, has destroyed our reputation of brotherly love, affection, trust, tolerance across religious and ethnic divide.
“Hate, lies and conspiracy have taken over our hope and created suspicions and intolerance among different people in the country.
“The new PDP National Working Committee, NWC, under my watch is determined to bring good leadership to the country, rescue and rebuild the nation for a sustainable and positive change that will usher security, equity, justice, unity and political cohesion among Nigerians.
“We should stop praying or agitating for disintegration of Nigeria, our country will remain united, peaceful, despite the great challenges facing us, especially on insecurity, where innocent people are being slaughtered, maimed and raped.
“Nigerians should not lose hope because of certain group of people that failed to deliver on good governance, protection of lives and property, equity and justice, as PDP is ready and modified to correct these imbalances for a united Nigeria.”
The former Senate President, in his soothing words to agitation across the country, urged to sheath their sword as, no section of country will be subjected to injustice or persecution, under PDP government.
“Every section of the country is presently facing one challenge or the other. We condemn heinous crimes where innocent people are killed and properties destroyed, whereas security operatives are so handicapped and poorly organized for the protection of lives and properties.
“We should stop praying or agitating for disintegration of Nigeria, our country will remain united, peaceful, despite the great challenges facing us, especially on insecurity, where innocent people are being slaughtered, maimed and raped,” Senator Ayu admonished.
In his address, Governor Samuel Ortom describe Senator Iyorchia Ayu as a man with focus that will lead the PDP into success. He also assured him of support from government and people of Benue state to achieve his mission of rebuilding and rescuing Nigerians from the poor governance of APC controlled Federal Government.
