PDP Gubernatorial Candidate in Abia state, Prof Uche Ikonne is Missing.

This is the thought of a concern Abia state citizen in far away Ontario, canada, who have asked this petinent question after seeing the massive engagement of an opposition candidate and one of the frontliners in the governorship elections of March 2023.

As we begin the new year, political frenzy pitches with the last lap of the campaign running steam after the chrsitmas and indeed new year festivities, from next week.

However, in Ndi Abia, the former Vice Chancellor of the Abia state university Uturu, Prof.Uche Ikonne have been missing in the last couple of months with speculation rife that the governorship hopeful may have been incapacitated and the Deputy Governorship candidate of the PDP, Hon.Okey Igwe have virtually been running the governorship campaigns on behalf of the principal. A mandate he lacks the constitutional, legal, moral and poltical capacity to so discharge.

All well meaning Abians from across the state and indeed the country is worried about this anomaly and have been asking where’s prof.Uche Ikonne.

No doubt as humans beguiled by the frailties of our humanity and the vagaries of life, none is inured from these challenges.

However, as one who holds the mandate of the PDP, a party that has been in power in the state since the advent of this democratic dispensation and republic, there’s need for the state Governor Dr.Okezie Ikpeazu, the state working committee of the PDP and indeed the Dr.Iyorchia Ayu led committee to ask the petinent question of WHERE IS PROF.IKONNE?

Feelers from the United kingdom hospital where he is receiving medical attention for the past months indicated allegedly that he may have been incapacitated and incapable of discharging the rigours of the campaign but closely been hiding from the public so as the former Governor Theodore Ahamefule that won his election from the prison walls, prof.ikonne will ran his campaign from the sick bed.

We therefore appeal to the leadership of the PDP both in Abia state and National Headquarters of the PDP to demand information on its governorship candidate so the opposition doesnot take advantage of it for its own strategic interest.

While We await the response of the state Government, the PDP both in Abia state and Wadata Headquarters Abuja.

There are indications that this matter has been fuelling insinuations in the political firmament of the state and stakeholders and watchers are worried by these developments.
