PDP Governors, Wike Lock Horns Over Soul of Party.

The internal conflict and power struggle within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reached an alarming stage, with governors on the platform drawing a battle line against Nyesom Wike, Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and former governor of Rivers.

Warning to Wike.

The PDP Governors’ Forum, through its Director General, Dr. Emmanuel Agbo, has issued a warning to Wike, describing his threat to “set fire” on PDP-controlled states as “unbridled, irresponsible, and totally unacceptable.”

Governors’ Resolve.

The governors, led by Chairman Bala Mohammed and Bauchi state governor, have vowed to face Wike headlong, matching him “money for money and strength for strength.” They aim to have total control of the party, which has been a subject of debate.

Party Crisis Deepens.

Wike’s strong hold on the Party National Working Committee (NWC) and his influence on the recent controversial Congress in Rivers state have further deepened the crisis. The majority of NWC members, allegedly in Wike’s pocket, endorsed the Congress despite court pronouncements.

Call for Unity.

PDP Deputy Youth Leader, Timothy Osadolor, has warned of the implications of internal crisis, emphasizing the need for all hands to be on deck to reclaim, repopulate, and rebuild the party. He commended the PDP Governors’ Forum Chairman and Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed, and the Party Acting National Chairman, Amb. Umar Damagum, for their efforts to bring the party together.

Resolve the Crisis.

Osadolor stressed that a divided house does no one good and urged those who want to leave to do so. He emphasized that the party cannot survive another internal sabotage and called for all to work together to resolve the crisis.
