PDP floors APC in Kajuru Local Govt. chairmanship election and nine councilorship positions.

The opposition party in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, the Peoples Democratic Party has won the chairmanship election in the local government area of the state.

Also, the PDP won nine councilorship positions, while the ruling party, the All Progressives Party won only one seat.

Declaring the result, the Returning Officer, Dr Ibrahim DanMaraya from Kaduna State University, said Honourable Ibrahim Gajere polled 14,432 to floor the immediate past chairman and candidate of the APC, Honourable Cafra AB Caino who trailed behind with 9,095 votes.

“Hon. Gajere of the PDP, having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes is hereby declared winner of the election and returned elected,” he said

However, the result for Chikun council is still pending.

The Independent National Electoral Commission had initially scheduled the election to take place on September 4, 2021, but it was rescheduled for this Saturday, citing security reasons.
