Pay Me My Statutory Allocation : Achuiba Prays Court To Order Kogi Government To Pay Him

Elder Simon Achuba, has urged the Industrial Court, sitting in Lokoja, to direct the state government to pay him his allowances and other monies approved for him as Deputy Governor of Kogi State
Achuba who stated this during his cross examination at the sitting of the Industrial Court in Lokoja today, urged the court to adopt the documents he presented before the court as evidence for his claims.
The documents tendered before the Industrial Court presided by Justice. O. O. Oyewumi were those approved for him by the Kogi State Governor as his allowances and other monies but were not paid.
Recalled that Elder Achuba, in a suit NICN/ABJ/244/2019 filed on Aug.19., had prayed the court to declare that the decision of the defendants to withhold his allowances was discriminatory and amounted to unfair labour practice.
He is also seeking for an order of the court for the payment of about N N921.5 being his travel allowances, monthly imprest, security votes and other statutory allocations due to his office as the Deputy Governor.
The matter was however adjourned to the 17th February, 2020 for the defense counsel to open up their defense and for submission of written addresses.
