The lists of those positioning to over the seat of Alhaji Yahaya Bello as governor has further increased with the official declaration by Alh. Jubrin Usman to contest the APC ticket ahead the November governorship election.
The former Naval Chief of Staff in the President Goodluck Jonathan administration, made his intention to run for the governorship seat today in Abuja, the statement read” “Today, I declare to all the peoples of Kogi State that I’m contesting election on the platform of – the All progressives Congress APC, for the office of governor of Kogi State ,That I’m seeking for an opportunity to serve God and humanity.”
The Ex Service Chief hinged his intention to run on the need to offer purposeful leadership, appealed for the support of the APC member and people of the state.
The Kogi State Governorship election is scheduled for 2nd November, 2019. At the last count, five other aspirants have since indicated interest to unseat Gov. Yahaya Bello.
The declaration by Usman has finally lay to rest the speculation on which platform he was going to run after several months of consultation. The speculation on his running on the platform of the PDP was rife, but was undecided, owing to what many termed his pending case with the EFCC.
