Over 15 passengers missing as Kidnappers stormed Anyigba -Itobe highway of Kogi state.

 

More than fifteen passengers kidnapped along Itobe-Anyigba road yesterday, the armed kidnappers operated for over two hours unchallenged as called to police authority in Lokoja state capital proved abortive.

It was learnt that some motorists plying the road, on Wednesday morning, were blocked by the kidnappers and taken to an unknown destination.

A resident of the area said the kidnappers who were wielding dangerous weapons asked the travellers to come out of their vehicles.

“We saw them when they are taking dozens of travellers inside the forest. But we were helpless as we were not armed. We don’t even have the power to confront them,” he said.

At the time of filing the report, the Police and the state government are yet to react to the incident.
