outh Africa grants Ghana visa-free right, denies Nigeria

South Africa’s Department of Home has added Ghana to a list of seven countries with visa-free entry into the country – Nigeria was not included on the list despite the huge trade partnership between both countries – The country said it granted visa right so that tourism in the country can improve and affect job creation South Africa’s Department of Home Affairs has added Ghana to a list of seven countries whose citizens will be permitted to enter the country without visa.
Nigeria was not on the list of countries with the new status despite the big trade transactions between the two countries, The Nation reports.
It should be noted that South Africa made an announcement in September 2018 that it was working on a good number of plans to waive visa for some countries. According to the minister of Home Affairs, Aaron Motsoaledi, citizens of the countries are able to come into South Africa freely. “Tourism will soar if we relax visa requirements for entry into South Africa. We know that Tourism is very important for job creation,” he said. Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported the number of people killed in South Africa has never stopped rising as another two were killed recent in the attackers on foreign citizens in the country.
The two victims were stabbed to their death during separate attacks in Johannesburg and Cape Town on Friday, April 5, and Saturday, April 6.  There has been report of killing of Nigerians in South Africa in what has been described as xenophobic attacks. Senator Abaribe drew the attention of members of the Senate to the recent killing of a Nigerian, Elizabeth Ndubuisi-Chukwu in South Africa. It should also be noted that the Nigerian Senate called on the executive arm to issue a travel alert to Nigerians who intend to go to South Africa. The Senate reached this decision following a motion presented by Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe.
