The current Minister of State,Federal Capital Territory,Dr (Hajiya) Ramatu Tijanni Aliyu is a household name both in the FCT and daughter of the soil to Kogi people, as an indigene of Lokoja local government,before her appointment as cabinet Minister in the current administration of President Muhammadu Buhari..
Before then,she is not a new name in the polity of Nigeria,both as top notcher of the ruling APC, as former National Woman Leader,and also held various political positions and offices before her ascension to the current position as a Minister.
Her appointment as Minister in August last year representing Kogi state did not come as a suprise,as it was well deserved from her track records in both political mobilisation, developement and advancement of both Federal and state level.
Dr Aliyu in the last one year had made frantic effrots to restore confidence of both the people of Kogi state and the entire country in the APC led administration by President Muhammadu Buhari.
She was deeply involved in the restoration and sustenace of developmental efforts in both Kogi state and the Nation’s capital as well as respect to the traditional institutions.
No doubt traditional rulers of Igala kingdom,Ebira land and Kogi and Lokoja local government had at one time or the other bestowed traditional titles and recognition on the Honourable Minister on so many occasions.
The most recent one was confered on her by the Ohinoyi of Ebira land for her commitement to the well being of her people from all walks of life.
The FCT Minister of State had played a prominent roles in the last one year, in restoring people’s confidence in the traditional institutions within the six area councils,so much so that,both traditional rulers and title holders had passed a vote of confidence on her at several fora.
Her primacy in women mobilisation and political orientation became a turning point of her political career and political office,having recourse to the political peculiarities of each location.
Highly level disposition, discipline and command alot of political prestige both in her home state and FCT,the dual citizenship of this areas had contributed in no small measure in her leadership roles in the last one year.
This is obvious because of accelerated developement across Kogi state and the FCT that include Federal presence in the area of infrastructural developement,social services and economic emancipation of the people of this areas.
As you witness one year in office,it is pir prayers that your stay in the higlhy revered will bring on board alot of progress to both Kogi and the FCT.
