Ondo PDP Rally: Tambuwal Says APC Has Failed, Jegede’ll Deliver Ondo

Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State today floored the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for failing Nigerians on all fronts since it took the mantle of leadership of the country.
Gov. Tambuwal who was speaking at the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate mega rally in Akure, Ondo State Saturday, urged the people of the state to vote for Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) of the PDP in the October election.
According to the Governor, “the APC is in disarray. The party in Ondo state is also busy fighting just like the national body in Abuja which have no Board of Trustees (BoT) since inception till date.”
He emphasized that the ruling party has failed Nigerians on all fronts- in its anti-corruption crusade, fight against insecurity and rejuvenation of the economy.
“Instead of assisting Nigerians at this time of the COVID-19 pandemic when they need succor more than anything, they removed fuel subsidy and hiked electricity tariff. The timing for these policies is very wrong,” the Governor said.
While appealing to the Ondo state party leaders to be united, he pointed out that “no amount of intimidation should deter you from coming out to vote.”
‘I urge you to elect Eyitayo Jegede. He is a good Nigerian I have known since 1992. He will deliver to the people of Ondo state,” Tambuwal said as he condemned the recent inferno at the state office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as questionable.
“We suspect that there is a foul play in the fire incident at INEC Ondo office. We are, therefore, calling for a probe into the incidence,” he said.
The Saturday rally was graced by the National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, the governors of Sokoto and Oyo, former governors of Ekiti state, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola and Segun Oni, firmer Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Mukhtar Shagari, Sen. Ibrahim Danbaba and Sen. Ahmed Maccido.
