Former Nigerian Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, recently took to Twitter to commend Rinu Oduala’s engagement in politics following a video release on November 17. The video captured Kogi State governor-elect, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo kneeling before Governor Yahaya Bello!

In her tweet, Ezekwesili empathized with Rinu Oduala, stating, “Well, my very dear Rinu. Take heart in the lessons learned.” votes doesn’t count, one man can make you a governor to cover their track. She went on to cite Plato’s wisdom, emphasizing the consequences of neglecting politics: “Those who think that politics is beneath them will be ruled by their inferiors,” a sentiment she found resonant with the video.

Expressing optimism, Ezekwesili added, “My joy comes from seeing many like you in your generation now determined to engage in politics and not repeat our own foolishness of the past.” She firmly believes that Nigeria’s transformation lies in the hands of the younger generation, urging them to approach politics with character, competence, and capacity.

The former minister’s words serve as an encouragement for youth involvement in shaping Nigeria’s political landscape, signaling a shift towards a more engaged and proactive approach among the younger population.
