Obaro Congratulates Owohunwa, New Commissioner of Police

The Obaro of Kabba and Chairman, Okun Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty, Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi has congratulated the Principal Staff Officer (PSO) to the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Idowu Owohunwa on his promotion to the rank of Commissioner of Police (CP).

Owohunwa, who hails from Kabba, was today, at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, decorated with his new rank by the Inspector-General of Police, Alhaji Mohammed Adamu.

The new CP had earlier also served as PSO to the former Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase.

Oba Owoniyi praised the new CP for his diligence, loyalty, discipline and courage, the qualities he said recommended him for the promotions he has enjoyed in a competitive environment like the Nigerian Police Force.

He said Owohunwa represented a brand new corps of police officers who he said had, with the application of sharp intellect and analytical minds, had upgraded the quality of policing in the country.

The Obaro said the Owe people and indeed their compatriots in the entire Okunland were proud of Owohunwa for bringing great honour to his fatherland.

Apart from the personal virtues he applied on his job, the Owe monarch said Owohunwa was also blessed with the rare qualities of humility, meekness and good character, adding that many who had met him either in his private or official capacity attested to those qualities.

Oba Owoniyi urged the new CP not to relax but should rather roll up his sleeves for more work, assuring him that there was space at the top for officers possessing his kind of qualities.

Praising Owohunwa for his support for efforts to ensure the security of life and property in Okunland, the Obaro said he should be assured of the continued prayers and support of the people of Okunland for more success in his career.
