The Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC) Kogi State Chapter has called on Dangote group of company the owner of Obajana Cement in Kogi to partner with the management of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) in order to effect massive development in the institution.
Speaking at a press conference held in Lokoja on Thursday organized by NYC to mark the 100 days in office of the Vice Chancellor of the university Professor Olayemi Durotimi Akinwunmi, the Chairman, NYC Kogi State Chapter, Comrade Alfa Ebune, said that the university can not grow to enviable height without support from individual and corporate organisations.
He therefore called on Dangote group of company and other corporate organisations that have their branches in Kogi State to partner with the management of FUL to enhance a speedy development of the citadel of learning.

Akinwumi worthy of appointment as the third Vice Chancellor of FUL, the youth leader lauded the achievements of the Vice Chancellor in the last 100 days in office , saying he has used his experience , dexterity and hard work to turn around the fortune of the university.
According to him “Professor Akinwunmi in the last one hundred days in office has deployed astuteness and quality leadership in the administration of the Federal University Lokoja.
“Within this one hundred days, alot of development has sprung up. Notable among these, are the establishment of three centers for distance learning, for smooth decentralization of the university. He created center for research and entrepreneurship among others”
