Nurses and Midwives Join Nationwide Strike

The National Association of Nurses and Midwives (NANM) has directed its members to join the ongoing nationwide strike declared by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC).

NANM has issued notices to its members, urging them to down tools and join the industrial action, which began on June 3. This move is in solidarity with other unions demanding better working conditions, fair compensation, and improved welfare for workers.

With nurses and midwives joining the strike, the healthcare sector is likely to be significantly impacted, adding to the already widespread disruptions caused by the nationwide strike.”
