The Yoruba Council of Elders has expressed concern over the severe hardship faced by Nigerians under the current administration. In a statement issued by its General Secretary, Oladipo Oyewole, the council noted that despite its hope for a positive turnaround in the country, there is presently widespread suffering.
The council emphasized that the government should prioritize the welfare of the masses and address the immediate needs of the people. It highlighted the lack of regular electricity supply and the recent increase in the price of petroleum products as significant contributors to the current hardship.
The Yoruba Council of Elders urged President Bola Tinubu to revisit his administration’s strategy and attend to the short-term needs of Nigerians while pursuing long-term development goals. The council stressed the need for effective governance to ensure that Nigerians can live in comfort and harmony.
Furthermore, the council called on the administration to intervene and provide better governance for the masses, emphasizing that administrative work is required to improve the lives of Nigerians.
