DG NPC, Dr Kashim Akor, Hilary Amodu others Inaugurated into National Productivity Award Committee

Director General National Productivity Center, Dr Kashim Akor, the organizer of Who is Who in Igala land, Chief Hillary Amodu, Hon. Jatau Kunda others inaugurated by Hon. minister of labor and employment Dr Chris Ngige  into the committee that will nominate, screen and approve those consider worthy of the award.

The NPOM Award was instituted by the Federal Government through the Ministry of Labour and Employment to honour deserving Nigerians in recognition of their hard work and efficient public service delivery and selfless service to the nation,

National Productivity Award is one of the flagship points of government to reward excellence in the service, with the aim of promoting healthy competition among workers.

Speaking after the inauguration, Director-general of National Productivity Centre, Dr Kashim Akor harped on the need for Nigerians to cultivate the productivity mindset that would steer the nation to greatness, saying “sustainable development can only be achieved if the economy becomes more efficient and effectively operated.”

Its recipient is often decorated by the President of Nigeria. Recipients of the award have the legal right to use the postnominal title:

MINISTER OF LABOUR & EMPLOYMENT ON THE INAUGURATION  OF THE RECONSTITUTED NATIONALPRODUCTIVITY ORDER OF MERIT AWARD COMMITTEE(NPOMAC) ON THURSDAY, 18 TH APRIL 2021 PROTOCOLI am delighted to welcome you all to this inaugurationceremony of the newly reconstituted National Productivity Orderof Merit Award Committee.

  1. The reconstitution of this Committee and its inaugurationtoday demonstrate government commitment to issues ofproductivity and its enhancement in Nigeria.

  2. The Committee has the onerous responsibility of selectingand recommending individuals and organizations for confermentof the National Productivity Order of Merit Award (NPOM) by Mr.President.

  3. The National Productivity Order of Merit (NPOM) Award wasinstituted by Government to recognize and honour productiveindividuals and organizations in Nigeria in the year of the award for achievements made in the three preceding years.The speci’c objectives of the award are to:

(i) Institutionalize productivity consciousness andexcellence in service among workers and organizationsin both the public and private sectors in Nigeria;

ii) Recognize and highlight the contributions of theindividual workers as well as organizations to higherproductivity;

) Accord workers and organizations proper and duerecognition and reward the most productive workersand organizations in both public and private sectors for
diligence, high performance, high productivity andresearch achievements;

(iv) Encourage and foster the spirit of healthy competition inproduction amongst workers, ‘rms and companies inNigeria;(v) Encourage promptness, thoroughness, courtesy,responsibility dependability and service delivery;

(vi) Build and encourage the spirit of self-reliance.5. This award is one of the highest recognition given by anappreciative nation. Youmust endeavor to contribute your best to the work of this Committee.I have no doubt in your abilities and I believe you will live up toexpectation.

  2. I expect you to get down to work immediately and ensure wehave a list of awardees for 2019 and 2020 for approval for confermentof the 2021 NPOM Award by Mr. President.
