Nigerian Army Neutralizes Terrorists, Recovers Cache of Weapons in Kaduna

 

In a significant operation, the Nigerian Army reported the neutralization of two terrorists and the recovery of a substantial cache of weapons in Kaduna State. The operation occurred along the Birnin Gwari-Manini axis and was executed based on credible intelligence regarding terrorist movements in the region.

According to an official statement released by the army, troops strategically laid an ambush in response to the intelligence reports. The statement highlighted the army’s ongoing commitment to dismantling terrorist networks across various operational areas, delivering decisive blows to fleeing militants.

During the encounter, the troops engaged in an intense firefight with the terrorists. The statement noted, “Troops successfully expunged and destabilized terrorists attempting to escape military action, aborting their mission and putting them on the run.”

The operation was conducted in the vicinity of Kwaga village in the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area. The clash resulted in the neutralization of two terrorists, while others managed to flee in disarray.

In addition to the casualties inflicted on the terrorists, the army recovered significant arms and equipment, including:

• Two AK-47 rifles
• Three rifle magazines
• One Baofeng radio
• Three motorcycles utilized by the terrorists

The Nigerian Army reiterated its resolve to combat terrorism and ensure the safety of its citizens, stating, “Troops are still on the trail of the wounded terrorists.” The operation underscores the military’s commitment to maintaining security and stability in the region.
