Nigerian Air Force (NAF), operating under Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), has successfully conducted precision airstrikes in Borno State, destroying an improvised explosive device (IED) factory, several gun trucks, and eliminating dozens of Boko Haram fighters. The strikes, carried out on June 18, 2025, in Kwaltiri within the volatile Tumbuktu Triangle, mark a significant setback for the terrorist group.
The operation was launched following credible intelligence reports indicating heightened terrorist activity in the area. Surveillance missions confirmed the existence of an IED-making site and multiple vehicles linked to the insurgents, providing the necessary targets for the air interdiction.
According to a statement released on Thursday by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, the precision passes by NAF aircraft resulted in the “naturalisation” of numerous terrorists. The strikes have dealt a substantial blow to the terrorists’ logistics and command infrastructure.
“The successful strikes not only disrupted their command and control as well as logistics chains but also sent shockwaves through their ranks, significantly degrading their morale and operational momentum,” Ejodame stated.
This mission reaffirms the NAF’s unwavering commitment to dismantling terrorist strongholds and restoring peace and security in Nigeria’s North-East region. The continuous efforts by the Nigerian Air Force aim to degrade the fighting capabilities of these groups and enhance the overall security landscape in the affected areas.
