Nigeria: We Must Do Away With Politics of Godfatherism, says Anenih Plays Politics Of Selfish- Oshiomhole in 2009

Benin — EDO state governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole said at the weekend that his administration will permanently do away with politics of godfatherism in the state and ensure that it is buried. The governor, who disclosed this at Urokpota Hall, where Chief Osamede Adun, popularly called Bob Izua, officially decamped to action congress.

He said: “We must do away with godfather, we do not need to go to Uromi to decide who becomes a councillor or a member of the house.When you buried a godfather you don’t do it in a day you must continue untill you finally kill the godfather.”
The statement that was directly targeting at former minister of works and housing, Chief Tony Anenih the governor further described Chief Tony Anenih as a selfish politician who caters for himself and his immediate family to the detriment of the majority of people from Esanland, his Senatorial district.
