A recent report by the Charity Aid Foundation (CAF) has ranked Nigeria third in the list of countries with the most generous people in Africa, according to the World Giving Index 2024. Kenya takes the top spot in Africa and second globally, while The Gambia and Liberia follow in second and fourth place, respectively.

The report highlights Kenya’s impressive ranking despite facing challenges like rising living costs and unemployment. “Kenya’s position in the World Giving Index is both impressive and encouraging considering the nation’s battle with a rising cost of living and growing unemployment,” the report says.

The World Giving Index also reveals that a staggering 4.2 billion people worldwide gave money, time, or helped a stranger in 2022, representing 72% of the global adult population.

Nigeria’s ranking is a testament to the country’s strong culture of generosity and kindness. Despite facing its own challenges, Nigeria remains a beacon of hope and compassion in Africa.
