Niger State Governor Mohammed Bago has marked his one-year anniversary in office with a series of significant announcements aimed at improving the lives of citizens and civil servants in the state.
Key highlights of the announcements include:
– Release of N25 billion for the payment of pensions and gratuities for all retired workers in the state
– Promotions for all civil servants who have been stagnant in a position for a long time
– Free rides in Compressed Natural Gas-powered buses for students, health workers, and security forces, with civil servants paying discounted rates
– Procurement of 200 CNG-powered buses and 50 security vehicles to enhance transportation and security in the state
– Renovation of the judiciary complex and state secretariat
– Plan to procure 800 more CNG buses and 1,000 electric vehicles to promote green energy
– Planting of 1.5 million trees in the state this year
Governor Bago attributed the achievements to the support and inspiration of President Bola Tinubu, whom he described as a “father figure” who has spurred them to succeed. He promised to continue delivering more dividends of democracy to the people of Niger State.
