NIA Wants Buhari’s Billionaire Nephew Tunde Shabiu Back, Probes Recruitment

Yusuf “Tunde” Sabiu, Buhari’s billionaire nephew who was illegally recruited as an Assistant Director into the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) while working as a Personal Assistant to the former President, is to be redeployed to Nigeria from the UK where he was deployed. Sabiu’s recruitment is now a subject of an investigation.
The NIA is miffed at how he was foisted on them without going through the required recruitment process.
Sabiu, a former recharge card seller became a billionaire working as a personal aide to Buhari.
He was said to be more powerful than VP Osinbajo and had unfettered access to the country’s resources.
Sabiu left for the UK May 30 to resume as an Assistant Director with the NIA in what was perceived as an immunity for him to cover his shady deals during the Buhari era.
