Ngige Eulogises DG NPC. By ABUBAKAR YUSUF.

 

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige has described the outgoing DG National Productivity Centre NPC, Dr Kashim Akor as one of the most vibrant top government chief executive officer of Nigeria’s parastatals, from his track records of achievements.

The Minister who bare his mind during the book launch on Tuesday at Yar’adua Centre in Abuja further described Dr Akor as “Jerk of all trades and master of All “.

Ngige maintained that Dr Kashim Akor remained an asset to the labour community and the entire nation on the whole.

The Minister commended the outgoing Director General for his supports from his assumption of duty that stabilised his administration for consecutive eight years.

Ngige said the Labour Ministry will miss the outgoing DG NPC in active service, but with the new appointment, he will remain with us for a long time to come.

He lauded the intellectual contributions of Dr Kashim Akor’s to the development of productivity in the country and Nigeria at large.

In his response, the author of the book , Dr Kashim Akor applauded the Minister for considering him worthy to work with in the last eight years, promising to continue the developmental templates if given another opportunity.

Dr Kashim Akor who met a moribund NPC was able to transform the agency not only to a profitable government agency , but involved in series of capacity building for both public and private organisation.

“We met the NPC with as low as 15M as government subvention to a revenue yielding organisation running into billions.”

In his vote of thanks, the incoming Director General, National Productivity Centre NPC, Dr Nasir Olaitan Raji-Mustapha promised more revolution in the agency aimed at revamping Nigeria’s ailing industry, beyond the mandate of the centre.

He thanked the Minister for honoring the Director General and his supports to the progress and development of the centre.

Highlights of the occasion included the unveiling of the Book and launching titled
Productivity; A Discourse on Concepts, Issues and Perspectives in Nigeria.
