Nasarawa State Governor ,Engineer Abdullahi Sule has appealed to the management of the Nasarawa State University Keffi to as a matter of fairness and with a deep sense of advancing academic pursued to review the suspension meted on some students.

Speaking during the 4th Stakeholders Meeting and the first year anniversary of the institution’s Vice Chancellor Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman on Tuesday.

Governor Sule while on congratulating the Vice Chancellor for putting her best in ensuring that the academic standard of the university progresses.

He said” I want to congratulate you professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman for your inclusive and transformative governance and your performance that is giving the opportunity to do what you have done.

” I most confess that during the time of her appointment as vice Chancellor of this university ,I prayed and hoped that she can do it ,because she is calm,quite and soft.But I didnt know that it is a sweet mother that is taking over from a buffalo soldier.

” Let me also appreciate you your excellency ,senator Abdullahi Adamu orputting up this dream which has become a reality today that we are building upon it” Governor Sule said

Governor Sule in his extensive appreciation ,thanked the Chairman Governing Council of the University,Professor Attahiru Jega and the Chancellor, His Royal Highness ,Dr Shehu Chindo Yamusa111 for their commitment and dedication to the development of the university.

Engineer Sule went to acknowledging the various challenges faced by the institution,but however stated that he knows that the university has all the potential, capacity and all the prospect to be among the leading universities in the country.

Governor Sule also thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for giving his best in ensuring development across the state ,saying his administration has helped in no small measure to fast track development via the fair distributions of federal allocations which has energies infrastructure.

Delivering her one year anniversary in office speech, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman ,said” On this day I was entrusted with the mantle of leadership by the grace of God,the endorsement of our governing council and the appointment by His Excellency the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State and visitor to the university,to lead this great institution.That trust came with the responsibility to transform,to build ,to sustain and inspire.

” Our stands today not only as an academic institution but also as a beacon of hope ,innovation and excellence in our state,in our country ,and increasingly across borders.let me begin by saying that the journey so far has been nothing short of transformative. What we have achieved within one year is not just a testament to my leadership ,it is the result of collective resilience ,unwavering commitment ,and the unrelenting pursuit of our shared vision” Sa’adatu posited.

And reeling out her vision,Professor Sa’adatu averred that the vision is all about charting a path to excellence which is to modernize the infrastructure supporting learning ,teaching ,research and living.

” Let me now present in thematic order the key achievements of our administration within the first year.These are the fruits of shared labour,effective leadership and stakeholders support.

” We have renovated hotels at the main and Pyanku Campuses,improved students welfare and safety through upgrades in plumbing ,electricity works ,fumigation and furnishing.

” Solar boreholes were drilled in strategic areas,constructed the ASR 500 capacity lecture theater ,embarked on 15 KVA Solar power project,upgraded the ICT infrastructure ,constructed road networks of 4.5KM and put to use in Keffi and Lafia campuses.

” We have also procured teaching equipment and furniture under 2024 TETFUND interventions as well as opened a befitting liaison office at Abuja fully integrated to meet 21st Century requirements for liaison and e-learning functions” She added.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has reassured of its commitment to the age-long partnership with National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), as one of the scheme’s collarborating agencies charged with ensuring the safety of lives and properties of corps members across the country.

This assurance was given by the Commandant-General of NSCDC, Dr Abubakar Ahmed Audi, while playing host to the NYSC Director General Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu when he received the NYSC Chief Executive in his office.

Dr Audi stated that the NSCDC was duty bound to provide maximum security for NYSC’s assets nationwide. He acknowledged with approval, the positively impactful role of the youth-centred organisation in uniting the nation, nurturing graduate youths and fostering integrated development of the nation’s economy.

Audi assured his NYSC counterpart that the NSCDC has enough personnel to deploy to all NYSC orientation camps, offices and corps lodges, adding that his doors would always be “open to accommodate any request from NYSC as it relates to provision of security”.

The NYSC Director General informed his host that the visit was part of his efforts to familiarize himself with the Scheme’s critical stakeholders, as he settles down to duty as the Chief Executive of the NYSC.

Nafiu commended the NSCDC for its support to the Scheme and the seamless operational synergy with other collaborating agencies of the NYSC.
He further appealed for improved synergy with its sister agencies in ensuring the security of NYSC’s assets, especially Corps Members.
The NYSC DG assured his host of reciprocal support when and where applicable.

Senator Wadada Sponsors 500 Students For NABTEB Exams

In the face of increasing political propaganda and calculated distractions by opposition elements, the Senator representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District, Ahmed Aliyu Wadada has once again demonstrated his relentless focus on human capital development by sponsoring 500 National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) registration forms for students across his senatorial district.

The gesture, which cuts across all five local government areas of Nasarawa West Keffi, Karu, Kokona, Nasarawa, and Toto comes at a critical time when detractors are working overtime to distract the senator from his legislative and constituency duties through misinformation and targeted media propaganda.

But true to his character, Senator Wadada has refused to be swayed by political noise. Instead, he is doubling down on his commitment to youth empowerment, education, and capacity building, the pillars of sustainable development.

The 500 NABTEB sponsorships are part of a larger educational support program initiated by Senator Wadada to provide opportunities for students who may otherwise be unable to afford registration for technical and vocational certification. These certifications are vital in preparing young people for skill-based employment and self-reliance, especially in a time when the nation is shifting towards entrepreneurship and technical proficiency.

This is not just an exam form. It’s a bridge to opportunity, dignity, and a better future, a beneficiary from Kokona LGA said during the flag-off of the distribution.

While some political actors engage in media stunts and empty rhetoric, Senator Wadada continues to deliver visible, measurable, and people-centered results. His approach to leadership is driven by facts, focus, and fairness, not fanfare.

This intervention is just one among several by Senator Wadada, whose legislative and philanthropic record speaks volumes. From facilitating empowerment programs, scholarships, infrastructure support, and strategic advocacy for federal interventions including the long-stalled Keffi–Nasarawa–Toto Road, the Sarkin Yakin Keffi has proven time and again that his mission is service, not self-promotion.

As 2027 inches closer, it is expected that political noise will increase. But the people of Nasarawa West are now wiser and watching. In the face of distractions and baseless attacks, Senator Wadada remains an anchor of purposeful leadership, offering results, not reactions.

With 500 more students now given a chance at a better future through NABTEB sponsorship, Senator Wadada has once again reminded Nasarawa West and Nigeria that true leadership is measured in lives touched, not headlines grabbed.

Delivering his professorial inaugural Lecture a professor of Public Law ,Professor Abdulkarim Abubakar Kana of the Nasarawa State University Keffi has critically X-Ray areas where the law has failed and reeled out solutions by recommending certain components that could strengthens the justice system in both the state and at the national levels.

Speaking on the topic ” Why The Law Fail: Analyzing the Shortcomings of Nigeria Laws and Implications for Justice” on Wednesday ,professor Abdulkarim Kana ,who is also the National Legal Adviser of the ruling All Progressive Congress said the challenges leading to failure of the law are treacibly to poor legislative and executive misinterpretation and passing bills into law by legislator without enforcement of same on the life of the nation or a state.

” You have heard in the course of my presentation ,I was able to bring out circumstances where the law would said to have failed.and what need to be done to prevent failures of laws and when the laws have fallen what needs to be done.

“And one of those solutions is that the laws needs to be restructured ,where is not reconstructed it will failed.Then secondly,when the laws are reconstructed it has to be properly implemented without compromises and corruption.

” The executives that implement the laws most also implement or interpret it properly without fear or favours” He added.

Taking the bull by the horns the university don pointed that if only the law can be strengthens and enforced by the authorities concerned without corrupting it by playing favoritism , compromise and corruption, the law will become superior and defaulters will avoid criminal tendencies .

Reacting to controversy that is playing out at the National Assembly between the Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Senator Natasha Akpoti, vis vasa the case of rivers State in an interview with journalists ,the public law don directed that chapter 3 of his inaugural Lecture speaks volume on the implication of the rights of the woman,stating that there is need for a careful study in that regards.

” But in the case of of River State,unfortunately is a reaction against an action which now is a wake up call to all those who are charged with duty and responsibility of managing the democratic structure of the country to know that these structures must be nurtured ” Prof Kana averred.

Earlier in her address, the Vice Chancellor ,Nasarawa State University Keffi, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman said the inaugural lecture is a reverend academic tradition that serves as a platform for the justification of the appointment and promotion of a professor.

She revealed that in fulfilling such tasked the faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences is leading others with 12 inaugural lectures ,followed by the faculty of Arts which had 10 and the the faculty of Agriculture had 8 ,with others as the faculty of Administration having 6,faculty of Education,5 .Social sciences with 4 ,while the faculty of Law had 2 ” plus today’s lecture which steps it up” She numerated.

She stressed that the inaugural lecture presented by professor Kana was particularly relevant for it highlights the challenges and shortcomings of our legal system,which is mainly man made laws in promoting justice,stability and development in any society is far from the ideal
