NBC pledges support as TStv rolls out pay per view TV

 
The Ag. DG, Prof. Armstrong Idachaba, today, 28th September, 2020, received the, representatives of TSTV Africa, led by their Chairman, Dr. Bright Echefu, at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
The purpose of the visit, according to Dr. Echefu, was to inform the Commission of their plan to roll out 1st October, 2020, across the country. He disclosed that TSTV has surmounted its initial challenges, and are repositioned to deliver to Nigerians, a product that will meet the needs of everybody.
Welcoming the TSTV Team to the Commission, Prof. Idachaba noted that NBC remains firmly committed in promoting local participation in the broadcast industry especially in the Pay-TV sector as an avenue for Job creation and a platform to galvanize the entrepreneurial skills of the Nigerian youths.
The Ag. DG further noted that the major issue confronting the Pay -TV sector in Nigeria which must be re-emphasized, is the area of giving subscribers wider options such as Pay-As-You-Go option and multiple bouquet prices.
In Conclusion, the Ag.DG advised TSTV to ensure the acquisition of required rights, use of the Nigeria Broadcasting Code and refrain from things that will put the country in a bad light. He assured the organization of the support of the NBC and the government in all ways legally possible, to ensure a smooth rollout for TSTV.
