Nasarawa Assembly threatens arrest as deputy gov shuns invitation

The Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Dr Emmanuel Akabe, who doubles as the state chairman, Task Force on COVID-19, has shunned the invitation of the House of Assembly for an explanation on the fight against the pandemic.
The Assembly on Wednesday threatened to invoke all relevant sections of the constitution to compel the state task force committee to appear before its committee on COVID-19.
The chairman, Mr Dahiru Angibi, said the committee invited members of the state task force, but the secretariat was sent.
Angibi said, “The the House will not hesitate to use the relevant laws of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to do the needful if the members of the state Task Force on COVID-19 fail to honour further invitation.”
